I used this book to study for the DANTES test, The Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union, which I passed with a B. The book was easy enough to read and understand and was laid out fairly well. I can not compare it to any other history book on the Soviet Union, as this is the sole source I used to study for my test. But it was all I needed so I recommend it as a good source.
