This bibliography testifies to the Spinoza renaissance in the seventies. The remarkable output of more than two thousand titles extending over a period of only thirteen years, indicates that there exists a lively interest  in Spinoza nowadays. In the last decade scholars equipped with different methods of investigation and coming from different philosophical schools set out to analyse the ideas of the Dutch Jewish philosopher and  tried to evaluate them in the context of contemporary philosophical discussions. As far as we can see now,  this is only the beginning of the renewal of interest in Spinoza studies. New systematic inquiries are forthcoming and for that reason bibliographies will never be complete. We all know from experience how  important bibliographies are for the study of a certain philosopher. And this is especially true for the study of  Spinoza because his philosophy covers so broad a field. The growing interest in Spinoza made it necessary to  bring out this bibliography soon after the works of Wetlesen, Préposiet and others. The large number of items proves its usefulness! This work of two lecturers at the University of Groningen, H.J. Siebrand and C.A.  Westerveen, and of our colleague on the board of the Spinoza House Society, Th. van der Werf, shows that  today there are many friends of Spinoza all over the world. We hope that they will profit from this work and will  be stimulated by it. H.G. Hubbeling,
