Improving Assessment in Higher Education : A Whole-of-Institution Approach

The result of an innovative, three-year study aimed at improving the quality of teaching and learning at the University of New South Wales without increasing resources, this book details the scope, execution, and outcome of the project. It offers a wealth of detail on the project, which aimed to improve the efficiency of student assessment while maintaining and improving its quality. This analysis also documents the experiences of the participating faculties as they worked towards four main outcomes: providing better feedback to students, being clearer about what is expected of students, creating better assessments, and reducing the number of assessments.
